Temporary Work Visa / Technical Assistance Visa

This Embassy does not provide express service.

Once applicant produces all the required documentations and approval is granted by the Brazilian Ministry of Labor, visa processing time is 3-5 working days.

In times of heavy workload, the processing time may be extended: do not leave your application to the last minute.


PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR RELEVANT DOCUMENTS AT THE EMBASSY. PLEASE COME TO THE EMBASSY AFTER HAVING ALL RELEVANT DOCUMENTS SO THAT THE VISA MAY START PROCESSING.


GENERAL RULES

Foreign citizens travelling to Brazil under a work contract must have a 'Temporary Work Visa' or a 'Technical Assistance Visa'.

Both visas require prior approval of the work contract, and subsequent authorisation, by the Ministry of Labour and Employment in Brazil, to which the employer has to address the relevant request. Only after receiving dua authorisation from Brazil the Embassy will issue a 'Temporary Work Visa'or 'Technical Assistance Visa'.

Applicants must have lived in Singapore for at least one year prior to the visa application.

Applicants intending to travel accompanied by spouses and children must not only apply for their visas but present their original marriage and birth certificates, for the whole family, for legalisation (fee applicable)

'Temporary Work Visas' may be issued for a maximum of 2 years.

'Technical Assistance Visas' are issued for 90 days.

First entry into Brazil must be no later than 90 days from the issuing date of the visa for the following countries:

 

Angola, Bahrain, The Republic of Cape Verde, Qatar, The People's Republic of China, Cuba, Korea, Philippines, The Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Greece, Honduras, Jordan, Libya, Oman, Pakistan, Paraguay, Portugal, Taiwan, Tunisia, Kuwait, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Ghana, Nigeria, Gabon and Switzerland. The other countries may have its first entry any time after the issue of the visa and the 90 days validity will start from the date of first entry. 

It is the responsibility of the applicant to make sure the application is lodged accordingly.

Within 30 days of arrival in Brazil, bearers of these types of visa must register with the Brazilian Immigration authorities (DPMAF) and submit a copy of the visa application form, which had previously stamped and returned to the applicant by this Embassy.

An Embarkation/Disembarkation card, provided to all visitors by the Brazilian Immigration authorities (DPMAF), must be filled in and signed appropriately and submitted to immigration upon arrival.


REQUIRED DOCUMENTS


1. Applicant's passport, valid for no less than 6 months. Soiled, damaged or defaced passports will not be accepted.

2. Visa Application Form must be filled online at https://scedv.serpro.gov.br 

Applicants must follow the steps below:

. Fill in the form.
. Click "SEND" to receive your processing number and receipt.
. Print the receipt.
. Attach one RECENT PASSPORT SIZE photograph (colourful and white background; we don't accept black & white photo and colourful background. Snapshots and computer pictures are not accepted).
. SIGN the receipt.
. Bring the duly completed and signed receipt, all the required documents and passport to the Embassy. If the required documents are not complete, we will NOT accept any submission in advance.

The application form filled–out on-line is valid for one month only; if you apply after that period it will be necessary to fill-out another form.

3. Originals and photocopies of a valid return ticket.

4. Company letter stating that the applicant is regularly employed in Singapore and all necessary expenses incurred for the work trip will be borne by the Company. 

5. International Certificate of Vaccination, where necessary. It's not compulsory, but he highly recommend to take the vaccination of yellow fever 10 days before the date of departure.

6. Original Certificate of Non Criminal Conviction, issued by the Singapore Police. It may take up to two weeks to be issued, and is valid for 3 months only. 'Technical Assistance Visa' (for 90 days only) applicants are exempt of this requirement.

7. Payment of the consular fee of S$200.00. Visa fee must be deposited at United Overseas Bank (UOB), account number: 116/310/925-0 - Embassy of Brazil.


* Note that deposit made at the Embassy of Brazil's account is non-refundable, and payment must be made only on the day application will be lodged; the nearest UOB branch from the Embassy is at Velocity @ Novena Square Shopping Centre.

* USA citizens are subject to an additional processing fee of S$300.00, in reciprocity for a similar fee charged by the US authority for processing all kinds of visa. On the same basis, attendance of the applicant in person is mandatory.

 * British citizens will be subject to an additional S$310.00 processing fee when visas are to be valid for over 180 days, on a reciprocity basis.

* When applying through a travel agent, courier, friends or family members, an additional fee of S$40.00 will be charged.
