Business Visa is applicable if you are travelling to Brazil for the following purpose:

· To attend business meetings. The bearer of this type of visa cannot work or provide any kind of service while in Brazil

· Travel for media coverage and/or film making

· Flight/ship crew members without an international crew card, except if working on ship operating offshore (in which case a temporary 5 visa is mandatory)

· Adoption of a Brazilian child

· To participate as exhibitor in a trade or industrial fair

EXEMPTION - Citizens of the following countries are exempted from business visa:

Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macau, Monaco, Morocco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, The Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovenia, Slovakia, South Africa, South Korea, the Sovereign Order of Malta (citizens of Malta must have a visa), Spain, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, United Kingdom,Uruguay and the Vatican.

Processing time is 3-5 working days. In times of heavy workload, the processing

time may be extended. Do not leave your application to the last minute.

Paid or unpaid employment of tourists in Brazil is strictly prohibited.

· Business visa holders are prohibited from engaging in any activity that involves the provision of services in Brazil, including intracompany (e.g. technical assistance, installation, maintenance or repairs of equipment, etc.).

· Visa holders are prohibited from working on a ship operating offshore or freighted for cabotage navigation.

- First entry into Brazil must be no later than 90 days from the issuing date of the visa for the following countries:

    Angola, Bahrain, The Republic of Cape Verde, Qatar, The People's Republic of China, Cuba, Korea, Philippines, The Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Greece, Honduras, Jordan, Libya, Oman, Pakistan, Paraguay, Portugal, Taiwan, Tunisia, Kuwait, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Ghana, Nigeria, Gabon and Switzerland. The other countries may have its first entry any time after the issue of the visa and the 90 days validity will start from the date of first entry.

   HOWEVER, THE PERIOD OF STAYING IN BRAZIL IS AT DISCRETION OF THE BRAZILIAN IMMIGRATION AUTHORITIES.

- It is the responsibility of the applicant to make sure the application is lodged accordingly.

· The original visa allows for up to 90-day stay. One single extension of up to 90 additional days is possible, at the discretion of the Brazilian Immigration Authorities (DPMAF).

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

· Applicant’s passport, valid for no less than six months (Soiled, damaged or defaced passports will not be accepted)

· Returned ticket or confirmed flight itinerary

· Original letter from the Singapore employer or institution to which the applicant is linked, stating the purpose and intended length of the stay in Brazil, taking full financial responsibility for the applicant while in Brazil as well as contacts to be maintained by the applicant

Visa Application Form must be filled online at https://scedv.serpro.gov.br

· . Fill in the form.
. Click “SEND" to receive your processing number and receipt.
. Print the receipt.
. Attach one RECENT PASSPORT SIZE photograph (colourful and white background; we don't accept black & white photo and colourful background. Also snapshots and computer generated are not acceptable).
. Sign the receipt.
. Bring the duly completed and signed receipt, the original documentation and passport to the Embassy. If the required documents are not complete, we will NOT accept any submission in advance.

· The application form filled–out on-line is valid for one month only; if you apply after that period, it will be necessary to fill-out another form.

· Certificate of yellow fever vaccination, where necessary

· Payment of the consular fee of S$120 * - Visa fee must be deposited at United Overseas Bank (UOB), account number: 116/310/925-0 - Embassy of Brazil.

* Note that deposit made at the Embassy of Brazil's account is non-refundable, and payment must be made only on the day application will be lodged, the nearest UOB branch from the Embassy is at Velocity @ Novena Square Shopping Centre. 

Also noted that, the receipt is only last for one month. If the payment has been made in July, the receipt may not be valid for August application.

USA citizens DO NOT NEED TO PAY  for business visa, however they are subject to an additional processing fee of S$280.00, in reciprocity for a similar fee charged by the US authority for processing all kinds of visa. On the same basis, attendance of the applicant in person is mandatory to get the stamp in the passport.

* Citizens whose visa applications require an approval from the Brazilian Ministry of External Relations are subject to an additional fee of S$50.00

* When applying through a travel agent, courier, friends or family members, an additional fee of S$40.00 will be charged.
