The Economic and Trade Promotion Section (SECOM) of the Embassy of Brazil in Singapore is one of the 57 SECOMs around the world, which together with the Trade Department of the Ministry of External Relations (DPR/MRE) comprise the Brazilian System of Trade Promotion. The System’s main objectives are to increase Brazilian exports and attract foreign investments to Brazil. It also stimulates the transfer of technology to Brazilian companies and fosters tourism flows to Brazil. The SECOM contributes to the main objectives of the Brazilian System of Trade Promotion by: Providing individualized assistance to Brazilian firms looking for new export markets and partners; Providing information to foreign firms interested in investing in Brazil or in importing Brazilian products; Organizing seminars and conferences on investment and trade opportunities in Brazil; Helping organize the participation of Brazilian firms and trade unions in international trade fairs; Helping organize Brazilian business missions abroad and foreign missions (investors and importers) to Brazil; Developing market and product surveys and analyses of competitiveness; Gathering and disseminating data on trade and investment opportunities; Stimulating tourism to Brazil.
